Weekly Zen Meditation through the End of May

Roaring Fork Zen meets twice weekly in the Kiva at True Nature Healing Arts in Carbondale, CO, on Mondays from 8-9am and Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30pm.  These sessions include two, 25-minute rounds of silent Zen meditation, with walking meditation (kinhin) in between. We open and close with brief recitations of traditional Zen texts. A short reading or comment is offered at the beginning of the second round. No advanced registration is necessary. Please review some of our introductory materials before you arrive, if possible.

Our Schedule is Changing in June

Our regular weekly schedule will continue through the end of May. Starting in June, we will have in-person zazen every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 8-9am in the Kiva at True Nature. The zendo will open at 7:30am for additional quiet sitting until the program starts at 8am.

On other Mondays (1st, 3rd, and when there is a 5th), we'll gather via Zoom (Code: Awake) from our respective plots to share zazen from afar. Our Wednesday evening sessions will be suspended for the time being. More details to come.

Welcome!

At RFZ, awakening is incomplete unless it manifests through acts of compassion and service. We participate in volunteer outings to build community and embody the wisdom of our ancient tradition. Recent outings have included serving meals to the unhoused in Glenwood Springs and leading meditation at the Garfield County Jail.

Dana is the Buddhist practice of giving. RFZ warmly welcomes your generosity, though it is not required. We have no overhead expenses, and all donations are used to cover the cost of renting our beautiful space in the Kiva at True Nature Healing Arts, a location we are fortunate to access at a steeply discounted rate, thanks to the kindness of the Connection is the Medicine Foundation.

As a registered 501c3 organization, your contribution is tax-deductible, and you will receive a receipt for your donation. Our federal tax ID number is 39-2097759. We offer warm bows of gratitude for your consideration and support.
